Many countries in Africa have made strides in protecting the rights of children: in healthcare, in access to clean water, in providing primary education. However, there are issues of extreme violence and death that children still face – issues that are not openly discussed – that are Africa’s hidden shame. This short documentary, entitled “Our Hidden Shame: Crimes and Extreme Violence Against Children in Africa” was created for the African Child Policy Forum to open the 7th International Policy Conference on the African Child.
